Finally install Avast Anti-Virus which is free and run a boot-time scan, it will remove viruses before they have a chance to start and thoroughly disinfect your computer. You could download the 3 programs below from the computer you are on and take them to your computer then install them that way. Keep Avast Anti-Virus installed to prevent you getting another virus in the future. Avast Anti Virus: getridof-virus-infected-for-free.blogspot.com/ SuperantiSpyware: freevirusprotection-spywaremalware.blogspot.com/ Malwarebytes: malwarebytes.org/ mbam.php |

I think I would definitely go with norton. Even though Norton is expensive, it is really good. Hope this helps! |

Here's the best of the best: anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ internet-security-suite-review.toptenreviews.com/ anti-spyware-review.toptenreviews.com/ I use Kaspersky IS 2010 and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (paid version). |

If your going for a paid-for one, then i would say zonealarm, it is good, norton and mcafee i would leave well alone. |

You can't go wrong with Kasperky or Norton, but there is no such thing as 100% bulletproof protection. |

Just personal opinion of course. I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/ V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/ V and anti spy weekly. Download safely from download.cnet.com/ windows/ tucows.com/ software.html?t= 68%85 |

Yourself .. 1) NEVER, EVER click on a clink in an email .. just DON'T do it .. (most people who think they have been 'hacked' ACTUALLY GAVE AWAY their own log-in and passwords THEMSELVES by clicking on a 'link' that an email said would take them to their Bank or to PayPal or somewhere similar ... ) 2) NEVER 'double click' an email attachments .. in fact, if you assume that ALL attachments are viruses you will be 99% correct .. (only morons trust attachments these days ... yeah, I KNOW it said it was a photo of Anna Kournikova ..... moron) 3) NEVER download / install ANY software unless you are 100% sure of the source .. This means, in effect, only download from MS or SourceForge.net (Open Source) ... or drivers from the manufacturer sites of your hardware (and especially DO NOT install a 'viewer' from some pron site ...) 4) Use Firefox with Scripts and Java turned off to do your browsing .... 5) NEVER EVER turn off your Router hardware firewall (yes, I KNOW you want to make use of some fancy 'torrent' or join some clever 'game', but if the instructions say 'turn off your firewall' they are more interested in adding you PC to some BotNet than in delivering pirate movies .. - the person a criminal is most likley to scam is another criminal ..) |
