Free faster internet?
Alright supposedly i have the fast internet connection for bell south. But when i test my speed i get a 3 mbps download and only a .20 mbps upload and my computer internet and online gaming can be quite slow at times. Ive doing some research and i just need to know what to use. Im thinking of downloading either the ccleaner, a disk defrag tool, or a disk cleanup tool, or any combination of them. I just need to know which ones i should get and recommended ones for each. The key is im doing this to make my xbox live and internet connection run faster. Thanks for any help
Could I be getting faster internet speed than what I paid for?
Here's the story my dad just signed up for xfinity, with internet, phone, and cable, and it apparently comes with 12 Mbps up 2 Mbps down internet. I was under the impression that we were currently paying for 10 Mbps, or at least I knew we were 4 5 years ago. Just to check we were not getting ripped off I was only there for the tail end of the discussion, and the salesperson didn't even know the difference between Mbps and MBps, I just did many speedtests at speedtest.net, and I was getting 18 20 Mbps up, 2Mbps down.So my questions are could we be getting more than I'm paying for, or am I just mistaken about what we were paying for?We're currently paying about 75 dollars for internet and very basic cable that we set up about 5 years ago in the Tacoma area of Washington State. Could anyone in a similar situation tell me what their speed is?
I should have faster internet. How do I check speed?
Three days ago I asked for my internet provider to make my internet faster. We had our new contract, then we simply left. They didn't make our speed faster, and it doesn't seem to get higher.I need to know how to check internet speed because I'm afraid my computer wont even handle the difference and I gotta be sure what we're paying for.Thanks No online speed test please. I changed my changed ip address and im getting faster internet?
i used to have a netgear router. so i was bored and i decided to swap with my friends wireless router. everything works fine but now im getting slower internet. with my old router my ip was different than the one i have now.the thing is with my old router i got 8megabits ip 74.199.102.XXwith the new router i get 3mbits ip something elseboth had dhcpso since i remembered my old ip i disabled it and entered in 74.199.102.XX manuallynow i have fast internet againhow did this happen?is there a way i can find other ip addresses that have faster speeds? please dont present an answer questioning my morals
Why cant I get faster internet ? my neighbors get faster service than me !?
Okay I have AT& T DSL internet, I currently have the 1.5 MB s service. but my neighbors have the 5 MB s service. So I called my ISP and they said that it was unavailable for my locations. I dont understand how that can be true because my house and my neighbors houses are approximentally 10 15 feet apart so why wouldnt I be able to get the 5 MB s speed they get if I am in the same location ? If anyone can tell me why THANKS.

My household uses Veriszon dsl. It s become slow, and inadequate for streaming hd music video. The connection will vary in speed daily, and we ve contacted verizon so many times about connection drops for no reason IN GOOD WEATHER My parents however, are very cheap and have no desire in upgrading to Comcast which would be easier because we have Comcast cable and overall they re faster. I need a plan to kill the connection so that they will reconsider their thoughts in upgrading. Maybe pull an iPhone 4 where I can drop the sending signal by barricading a vital spot on the modem. Any thoughts? Please help

Looking for the best deal on fast internet?
I'm putting serious consideration into getting faster Internet than what I have now, which is AT& T's basic DSL, which, if I'm not mistaken, costs about $15 per month. I hate it It told me to wait 3 hours and 40 minutes to upload a video to YouTube that was 2 minutes and 50 minutes long well, it was an HD video, but that's kinda beside the point, so to speak.
