I've had RoadRunner 10mbps internet for the past few days, and I've had an issue. The modem loses connection with the ISP and reboots itself. We called them, and they replaced some wiring on the telephone poles. That worked for a couple days, but now the problem is back. Could it be the cable modem?

Dear friends,I am using the internet connection of a private company who provides internet through cable broadband.Recently I have noticed that the amount I was supposed to get was not getting properly, for example in the previous month I have recharged with Rs 700 Indian National Rupees where I will get 7GB of Bandwidth usage with the speed of 2MBps for 30 days, having used only 4 GB I have noticed my Bandwidth is finished and It tells me to recharge again with 700 or with any other plan .After enquery I came to know that the local cable operator who also provides internet they have used my connection somehow and have used 2 3 GB without letting me know about the fact . I just want to know is there any process or any software through which only I can access the Internet or I will block them when they want to get access of my connection. Please Help
HELP cable internet modem help!?
I have a desktop and a laptop. My laptop is hooked up with cable internet through a Motorola surfboard modem. However, I can't get my desktop's internet working. i don't have a router, and my modem only has one ethernet cord port, so i have to unplug the laptop to plug in the desktop. From what I've heard, I should unplug ethernet from the laptop, turn off the modem, turn on the modem, and then plug the ethernet cord into the desktop. I've tried this and it hasn't worked any ideas?I know a router would be the easiest, but I would never need both computers on the internet at the same time, so i'd prefer not to get a routerThanks in advanceI never need them at the same time and one of them I use very rarely, so is there a way to do it without a router?
Why can't I use another outlet for my cable internet?
I'm using Time Warner Cable for internet and when they set up my internet, the only outlet that seems to work for the internet is the one in my living room. Why is my cable internet so slow?
As for some background, I'm running Time Warner cable with 2.9 mb s download speed and 0.36 mb s upload speed using a speed test. I'm using a Netgear wgt624 v4 wireless router and a Netgear FS108 switch. There are only 4 people using the internet all on wired connections. I was thinking that it may be the switch as it's listed at 100 mb s but any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Why isn't my Cable internet working?
I have cable internet, a California company called Champion. It was working earlier today, but now it's not. I'm not behind on any bills or anything like that.
