I just ordered a refurbished computer from apple. It says it will ship within 24 hours and arrive tomorrow or the next day. I live in Georgia so I would assume it wouldn't be coming from California like their new computers. Anyone know?

First my HP M8400F is a refurbished computer...I've owned it since 2008 and it's been working fine.I need to buy a new computer with higher performance. I found good deals that bestbuy is selling locally, they are refurbished HP's including windows 7 and it's a 64bit operating system with 8GB ram and some other good stuff.... just checking if refurbished is a big deal or not.

So, I got a new computer for Christmas, but I have to give my old one to my dad. I want to get it cleaned up, clear out the hard drive completely. I saved a bunch of crap that I don't want him seeing and deleting it still keeps it on the hard drive doesn't it? Even if I empty the recycle bin. So I want to know how to completely clear EVERYTHING off my laptop's hard drive. I have Windows XP and it's an HP...But I need to know how to do it. ThanksReformat the drive and reinstall the operating system.... um how do you do that??

Upgrade processor on new factory refurbished computer?
I just bought a new factory refurbished HP computer but wasn't happy with the processor it came with. The processor I bought has the same socket, AM2, so it shouldn't be a problem upgrading it. My question is, I haven't run the initial setup yet and was wondering, is it better to install the new processor first and then run the initial setup of the computer or should I run the initial setup then upgrade the processor?The computer is an HP P6243W. The mobo has a AM2 socket and the new processor is for an AM2 socket.

Refurbished computer, no recovery disk, installed windows xp, no sound?
i purchased a refurbished compaq presario r3000. It didn't come with a recovery cd..... it had been " wiped clean" when i got, so i put in the xp disc, installed it & everything seems to be functioning ok, video playback & internet browsing are fine, just no sound... other than finding a recovery disc for it, is there anything else i can do???
