Which brand of notebook computers is the best for me?
I am a college student. I would like to hear bout your experience with different brands. I want a notebook computer only for the basic needs for college like typing papers and using programs like excel, or other common applications. I bought my Gateway notebook computer from Best Buy, does anyone know where i can find the serial number?
I purchased my computer about 3 years ago from Best Buy, the sticker on the bottom has rubbed off and I've tried several computer programs such as Belarc, Everest, etc to try to obtain my serial number and none of them work. My model is MT6451. Gateway customer service won't help me without my serial .On a side note the reason I need Gateway support is b c my computer keeps giving me an error that my version of Windows Vista is not genuine when i bought the computer, it already had Vista pre installed on it . I've tried everything from trying to activate Vista, doing a system restore, and nothing is resolving the issue. I don't want my computer to shut down on me. If anybody knows how to fix the Vista issue, then the help is greatly appreciated also.
How do i accept license agreements etc. on my notebook computer?
Everytime I sign up for anything that needs you to accept a license agreement I cant accept it because the screen on my notebook is too small. I've tried dragging it off screen and I cant find ways to minimise the window. Any tips or alternate ways to accepting these would be much appeciated
What do you do if you want to change your notebook computer?
I want to get a new one but the old one is kind of valueless 1.5 years only if I do a sell back. what do people usually do if they change notebook computers? This is my first notebook so I dont know what to do with it. It is in good condition.
Can you buy a wi-fi card for a notebook computer that does not have one?
My friend has an old notebook that does not have wi fi on it. I set up his wireless router but does he need to get a wi fi card for his notebook cause he can not get on the internet yet? He can with the desk top but not the notebook.

Should I get a Laptop or Notebook computer?
This Christmas Im suppose to getting a new laptop Ive been researching. I found one but its a notebook computer. I want to know which is best. I'll be going to college in 2 years and this is the laptop notebook that I should be using for my studies. Which is better I know notebooks dont have cd roms but I can buy an external CD rom. Can anyone tell from experience which they would perfer? I defintely dont want to pick the notebook and regret it.
