Question: Why s my computer hard drive space this low?

I bought a laptop it said it had 160 gb of hard drive space however it only has 149. does anyone know if this is normal. and if its not how can i fix it?

This is normal as when a hard drive is advertised they tell you the full amount the disk can hold but in actual fact the disk itself will need to use a small portion of it for various things to keep track of where your files are stored on the disk.

It's normal. When you read those things @ the store they don't include how big the OS'S files are.

Nothing is wrong.... Thats your Operating System... Like XP, Vista, and Win 7. Which gives u menus and start buttons and organizes your files, Lets u watch videos... Its a program like MS Word but much bigger.

They lie and use creative math. There are many lawsuits again hard drive manufactures because of this.
